Homework Assignment #2

Homework Assignment- Due October 1st


  Good Job in Class Yesterday! Way to start digging deep!
If you missed out on  class, we went over Lesson 2 (Plot and Conflict)
Please be sure to go over this Lesson on your own.
You must Read Peter Rabbit, complete the story chart and answer the discussion Questions. 

If you were in class and  DID NOT complete your Paul Revere writing Assignment, Please do so ASAP. If you did not Present your Literary Device... you will be asked to do so next class.

    IF you have completed all of the above.... CONGRATULATIONS!!
YOU have remained on task, and have successfully completed LEVEL 1.
Your reward is "LESS TO DO THIS WEEK"

HOMEWORK

  1. Define Protagonist and Antagonist in your OWN words. Give an example of these from any story or movie.
  2. Define (in your own words)Conflict, Plot, Exposition,Rising Action, Climax, Denouement, and Conclusion
  3. Find Conflict within  The Silver Chalice
  4. Fill in the Blank Story Chart for the Silver Chalice. You will find the story chart on page 64 of your text. DO NOT write directly in your book. Instead, make a Photocopy of the page. If you do not have the book yet, Please find a copy of the Story Chart here:

    5. Make a prediction about the THEME of The Silver Chalice
    6. Write a Plot Summary for The Silver Chalice .  A GOOD Plot summary should include all 5 elements of the Plot. Please do this in NO MORE than 5 sentences. You will find an example of Plot Summary below:

The Three Little Pigs

 3 Young Pigs are sent out into the world on their own with limited resources; each of them possessing different skill sets and attitudes. The first task that they have is to ensure their own safety through securing decent shelter in a world that presents many potential dangers. Little do they know that they are about to come face to face with one of their greatest adversaries...the wolf. They must battle against circumstance, human nature and the Wolf, himself, in order to survive, but doing so individually is sure to amount to failure. They will have to come together in order to succeed.

    EXTRA CREDIT: Find 3 Literary Devices within The Silver Chalice
